OUR PRESENTERS

 

Megan Taylor, ND

Dr. Megan Taylor (she/her) practices integrative primary care for adults and naturopathic gastroenterology for adults and children with digestive complaints, allergies, and autoimmune disease in Seattle, WA. Dr. Taylor earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She completed two years of post-graduate residency training in primary care and naturopathic gastroenterology, and is well-versed in the evaluation and management of a number of specific digestive conditions including food allergies and intolerances, GERD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, IBS, SIBO, and microbiome restoration, among many others. She serves as adjunct faculty at Bastyr University, teaching the gastroenterology curriculum, and enjoys lecturing and teaching across the country and online. She is a proud member and former board member of the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP.org). 

Jacob Hwang, ND

Dr. Jacob Hwang (he/him) is a naturopathic doctor at the UCI Health Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI). Besides patient care, Dr. Hwang leads the SSIHI ND residency didactic program, contributes to various educational initiatives, and is actively involved in different interprofessional collaborations. Dr. Hwang earned his doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, followed by a one-year ND residency program at Bastyr University Clinic in San Diego, California. He was an adjunct didactic and clinical faculty at Bastyr University California for 2.5 years before he went on to complete an additional two-year ND residency program at the UCI Health Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute.

Kara Menzer, ND

Dr. Kara Menzer (she/her) graduated from Bastyr University in 2014. She has a primary care practice in Seattle, WA. Dr. Menzer also provides medical management of eating disorders in a team of other healthcare providers for outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. When not seeing patients or charting, she can be found geeking out about Tolkien and playing dress-up with her kid. 

Brandilyn Binstock, ND

Brandilyn Binstock (she/her) is currently a second-year resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and completed a one year INM-associated residency before starting the BCNH residency. During her undergraduate training she worked as an emergency medical technician for four years and also held a position in the cardiology unit monitoring and interpreting ECGs. She has a great interest and passion in working alongside medical students and feels strongly about teaching the merging of efficient diagnostics and conventional standard of care with integrative medicine philosophy and therapies.

Aubrey Corbett, ND

Aubrey (she/her) is a primary care physician practicing at Central City Concern's Blackburn Center. She graduated in 2019 from NUNM, and completed 2 years of residency at NUNM as well while rotating at various FQHCs to gain further experience. Her practice is rooted in recognition of how social determinants of health impact healthcare, and she has a passion for serving underserved communities. She also serves as a board member for OANP, and is a committee member for OHA Healthcare Workforce Committee. In her downtime, you can find her climbing mountains, rocks, or surfing with her fiancé.

Easter Ho, ND, IFMCP

Easter Ho (she/her) pursued her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University with the goal of helping patients who are diagnosed with cancer experience a higher quality of life. Dr. Ho’s private practice is located within two cancer treatment centers in the greater Seattle area. In addition to oncology, her passion and wish is to deliver preventative care and lifestyle & wellness medicine to patients living anywhere in the world. She is a certified functional medicine physician through the Institute for Functional Medicine since 2018. When Dr. Ho is not taking care of patients, she enjoys swimming, traveling, indulging in beauty through fashion and creative ideas, and volunteering at Cancer Lifeline, where she serves on the Board of Directors. She is lucky to have turned her passion into a career that brings her so much joy.

Krystal Plonski, ND, LAc,

EAMP, FABNP

Dr. Krystal Plonski, ND, LAc, EAMP, FABNP (she/her) is a Licensed and Board Certified Pediatric Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist in Seattle, WA. Dr. Plonski graduated with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program from Bastyr University in 2014. Following graduation, Dr. Plonski completed a 2-year accredited CNME Naturopathic pediatric residency in 2016. Over the years she has practiced combining pediatric Naturopathic Primary Care and Acupuncture and is currently working at Seattle Children’s Hospital Pain Medicine Department as a pediatric inpatient pain acupuncturist. Her philosophy of medicine is deeply rooted in the intersection of conventional pediatric standard of care and evidence-based integrative therapeutics.

Bill Walter, ND

Dr. Bill Walter (he/him) is a naturopathic primary care physician currently working at Community Health Centers of Lane County, in Eugene, Oregon, serving a primarily Medicaid and uninsured population. A graduate of Bastyr University, he completed his residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. In addition to clinical work, he serves the profession as a Delegate from Oregon to the AANP House of Delegates, serves on the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine, and is past Chair of the AANP Scientific Affairs Committee. He lives in Eugene with his wife and daughter.

Reese Pellegrini, ND

Dr. Reese Pellegrini (they/them) earned their doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in 2010 and completed three years of residency at Bastyr’s teaching clinic, Bastyr Center for Natural Health (BCNH), including serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Pellegrini currently serves as an Associate Professor at Bastyr University and Director of the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Wellness Clinic. They work as a clinical supervisor training medical students to be primary care physicians as well as a didactic instructor on diabetes and cardiovascular disease. They have had an opportunity to speak on both the national and international level and are passionate about improving access to high quality education for integrative providers.

Lela Altman, ND, LAc

Dr. Lela Altman (she/her) received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and her Master of Science in Acupuncture at Bastyr University. She then went on to complete a 3-year residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She currently serves as core faculty at Bastyr University where she teaches several classes, supervises clinic shifts at Bastyr, and has a private practice. Dr. Altman also began and currently supervises the Digestive Wellness Clinic at Bastyr and sees patients in the Center for Integrative Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Dr. Altman’s practice focuses on digestive health and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. She has written articles, given continuing medical education lectures and performed interviews in several venues on these topics.
